Purposeful Dirtbag

10/27/20

“Purposeful Dirtbag” was written as a songwriting exercise. A friend of mine gave me 2 words at random, “Dirtbag” and “Purposeful”. The exercise was to write a song around these words. So I did and the result was a tune about a man who is an absolute scumbag, and loves every minute of it.

The cover art was originally intended to be a literal dirtbag lying in an alley, with a lock of hair to represent the human who chooses to live this way. Since publishing it however, I have gotten many different interpretations of what this is supposed to be, all the way from a dirty potato to a political figurehead. I’m cool with these interpretations.

A Scream and a Song

Ah road trips. So fun. So luxurious. Come see my trip through Macon, GA home of the world's largest tennis racket! Is that true? Can you really prove it's not?

This video was directed and produced by Weatherman Films. It was shot back in August 2019.

Owl Pack

Owl Pack is a rock and roll band from the DC area. Their blend of 60s and modern rock is always a crowd favorite, and their songwriting depth can have you jumping up and down one moment and analyzing their lyrics the next. The dual lead vocals of Sebi Pecana and Alex Alavi, combined with the smooth bass of Giorgio von Horoch and steady drumming of Spencer Tritto, will leave you wall-eyed as you try to pick out which one is more talented.

Mary Ruth (Live)

On March 8, 2020 Owl Pack performed live at the University of Maryland radio station, WMUC. They played 5 songs, one of which, “Mary Ruth” you can listen to here.

Mary Ruth is the kind of girl you fall for when you’re too young to know what to do with yourself. You try to please her, but you’re not big enough yet, and might never be.
